Then, go back and towards the building you are in until you see a monster poking out of the wall. This monster is pretty strong, and its writhing attacks can knock you back if you're not careful. Defeat this to unveil a bonfire. There is a Soul of Proud Knight just ahead, then go towards the walkway that we ignored before. AS you head down the stairs, you're going to want to take out the fire slugs that you encounter. Progress forward and then the Taurus Demon will aggro, take care of this and head to the bottom of the stairs, where another wall centipede will emerge.
Kill this, and be careful of the terrain as it can easily hit you off. After killing this, head left to kill another Taurus Demon, kite this out and up the stairs for some more stable footing. Then, follow the path down, kill another Taurus Demon and head along the path until you see another Centipede, kill it, then head forward to be faced with 4 Centipedes, retreat and take these out at range, then in a chest you will find the Large Flame Ember, which you can give to Vamos.
Head back and to the bottom of the stairs once more. Head up and to the right to kill a Capra Demon and get a Soul on the ground, then progress towards the Fog Gate, but head right at the opening.
If you have the Daughter of Chaos Covenant levelled up to 30, you will find a shortcut into Lost Izalith. If not, then head through the Fog Gate to face off against the Demon Firesage. After killing Demon Firesage , progress forward and kill the two Fire Slugs that dart towards you. Then, head down the stairs to get to the next bonfire.
Then, head all the way up, killing all the Fire Slugs along the way. Then, at the top a corpse containing a Soul of Brave Warrior will be guarded by 3 of them. Get this and then head right, up the stairs to activate a lift to Quelaag's Domain. Head back to the bonfire we just discovered. The Demon Ruins As you know, Capra Demons can be tough - even by themselves - so taking on the group of Capras ahead, simultaneously, is ill-advised. Firstly a single one will drop, so move forward slowly, then once dropped you can dispatch it carefully.
Then, as you near the chest at the end of this path, four more will drop down and attempt to box you in. As soon as they drop, sprint forward between the two ahead of you to get out of harms way, or if you're confident in your ability to do damage at range, get boxed in and deal your damage.
As long as you don't get close to them, they are harmless. The chest past them holds the Large Flame Ember. You can get to the chest and pickup the Large Flame Ember.
Then to get back, stand facing the center of the four demons and yet again run like hell. Tip : if you get closed in by the four Rockworms that drop out of the ceiling I advise using the Silver Knight Spear to whittle away at their health, it is long enough that they won't attack you, but you can still harm them with your spear. The Ruins' Demons Two Many Bosses - Back at the stairs, advance up the steps to the fog gate ahead, where you will be attacked by two more Stone Demons.
Now, proceed back to the fog gate where there are two ways to go from here: Through fog gate you will find the Demon Firesage boss arena, then leading further into the Demon Ruins once it's defeated. This is the path that most will follow due to the specific requirements of the alternative route, detailed below. There's another passage to the right before the fog gate with traversable roots leading down to a big door.
This door is a shortcut that allows you to easily travel back from Lost Izalith to the Demon Ruins later, but it can also be opened early from the Demon Ruins side. To enable this you must be a level 2 Chaos Servant which will cost you 30 Humanity , otherwise it will simply not open from this side. Using this shortcut allows you to skip the Demon Firesage and Centipede Demon boss battles. It will also skip the lava field section of Lost Izalith.
However, doing so will cause you to miss out on the Demon's Catalyst and Orange Charred Ring that are dropped by the bosses. You can of course come back later to kill these bosses if you wish. Note: If the player received the status of Level 2 Chaos Servant in a previous play through, this status will be present in any future play throughs. Producing 30 Humanity for The Fair Lady is no longer necessary So, assuming that you're not a level 2 Chaos Servant , you'll be going to through the fog gate to take on the Demon Firesage.
At the top you'll find a familiar looking circular platform, and stepping onto the center of it reveals it to be an elevator that will return you to Quelaag's Domain - opening a very welcome shortcut.
At the bottom of the staircase there is a branch that leads down to a bonfire , as well as the fog gate to the Centipede Demon's boss arena. On a ledge beside the branch that leads downward there is another Soul of a Brave Warrior. Before going through the fog gate , be aware that Knight Solaire's summon sign is nearby the bonfire if you're in human form; he can be quite helpful in the Centipede boss fight. Head through the fog gate to meet the second boss.
Return to the entrance of the Centipede boss arena and continue, following the wall on your left, until you find the exit that leads to the next area: Lost Izalith Demon Ruins Map Speed Run Walkthrough A fast walkthrough of how to get to the end of the level the fastest, picking up only essential items goes here.
Please see here for more info on Kirk and his invasions. Join the page discussion Tired of anon posting? Submit Submit Close. If you stand near this spot upon entering the arena for the first time and leave the armor alone for now , you can turn him hostile by firing an arrow at him.
Using such a method, you could conceivably defeat the boss on your first attempt without taking any damage. You beat one of the most intimidating bosses in the game. Cross back over the bridge you used to enter the boss arena and descend further, into the dried lava bed.
Once in the dried bed, you can stick to the right edge to reach your primary destination or the left edge to take on several Minor Taurus Demons pictured above to obtain the Chaos Flame Ember. Note that when fighting these demons, it is always better to dodge as opposed to block, and only try for one strong R2 attack whenever you have an opening.
Losing patience against these guys will get you killed. Also, make sure to lure them out one by one. Arrows work great for that. In order to cross over the lava and reach the items without dying, you should equip the Rusted Iron Ring, the Flame Stoneplate Ring , and fire-resistant armor such as the Gold-Hemmed set you just picked up.
This area is adorned with a herd of Taurus Demons, the boss you fought originally on the bridge in the Undead Burg. Lure them to you one at a time to avoid being outnumbered. There are some great items at the back of this area, but they are surrounded by deadly lava. Make a note of their placement for a little later on once you've acquired the Orange Charred Ring.
Head down the stone path along the side of the cliff, battling past the Minor Capra Demons. Take note. If you are in human form, Dark Spirit Kirk will invade at this point. Although he is relatively easy, be sure not to fall of the cliff edge.
After dispatching the Capras and Kirk, head down the stairs and take a right. You should see a grotesque worm like enemy ahead dispatch it quickly and it will reveal a hidden bonfire. Rest, then head down the stairs to right. After taking care of the fire demons, take out the Taurus charging you.
Ignore the path straight ahead for now and head left. There will be two other Taurus Demons in your way so take them out carefully. Follow the path to the end, dispatching Worm Demons along the way and claim your prize, the large fire ember. Now head back and up the stairs. Through the fog gate, you'll have to face off against a Firesage Demon , an upgraded version of the Asylum Demon that you fought at the very beginning of the game. Use the same tactics as before to make quick work of the beast.
