Where to find unique weapons in skyrim

This means that the weapon is unavailable if you decide to complete the quest Destroy the Dark Brotherhood! Windshear's unique enchantment causes its attacks to stagger an opponent when hit and causes its bash attacks to paralyze them for a tenth of a second.

As the enchantment only works for its bash attack, the enchantment will not work if a spell or another item, such as a shield or secondary weapon, is being held in the other hand. Tempering Windshear requires a steel ingot and the Arcane Blacksmith perk. The benefits of tempering Windshear are doubled if the Steel Smithing perk is unlocked. For more information, see the Windshear article. Zephyr is a unique Dwarven bow that belonged to Katria before she fell down a cliff to her death inside of Arkngthamz.

The bow itself rests at the top of a ravine, precariously perched on the side of a fallen tree. Zephyr's unique enchantment gives it a much higher draw speed than regular Dwarven bows, making it one of the quickest bows available, alongside Auriel's Bow and the long bow. Zephyr can be further improved with a Dwarven metal ingot if the Arcane Blacksmith perk is unlocked, with the benefits of these alterations being doubled if the Dwarven Smithing perk is also unlocked.

Horksbane DR. The best version is at level It's a pretty good sword and can be upgraded, however, and has a health-healing enchantment by default. Being an ancient nord weapon, the dwarven smithing perk will help you to make it even more deadly.

The sword can be grabbed during the quest Forbidden Legend. You can start this quest by reading the book Lost Legends - this will kick off the quest to investigate the legend of Gauldur. If you don't find one of the books naturally, you'll find one on a dead adventurer's body in Reachwater rock. Later in the quest you'll end up in the ruins of Golgunthur - you'll end up in a fight, and this sword is the reward. War Axes are a less refined all-out-combat weapon than the sword, but there's still some rather fetching unique ones available in Skyrim.

We've picked out a couple of favourites. Okin is a stupidly cool looking noredic war axe. It dishes out frost damage to both health and stamina and has a solid base damage stat of To get your hands on Okin you'll want to do the Silenced Tongues quest. You can find this by ending Volunruud and exploring around - you'll find notes that'll begin to push you towards the quest.

Eventually, you'll obtain this weapon as a reward. There's a decent sister weapon to this too, a sword called Eduj. It drops at the same time. As this weapon's name suggests, this is found as part of the Dawnguard DLC pack. It dishes out sun damage to undead, and the amount of damage it does increases with every undead you've killed with the axe since the last sunrise - a unique effect. It has some solid damge output too. To get this weapon, simply get involved with the Dawnguard DLC.

You'll eventually come across the quest Lost Relic. These are radiant quests where you're sent to find a random artifact, but if you keep doing these missions you'll eventually get this item. In a cruel twist of fate for you beefy, two-handed wielding weapon lovers, there's less two-handed unique weapons in Skyrim than single handed swords alone.

As such, we've grouped them together. There's some pretty tasty battleaxes, greatswords and warhammers available, so here are our picks. If you're a little bit bias against elves, well, this is the weapon for you. It does even more damage to elves, and that's on top of its nasty base damage stat of It also looks pretty bloody cool, to be honest. You'll want to tackle the quest Glory of the Dead, and to do that you'll have to join The Companions faction.

Glory of the Dead is the final quest for this faction. Once you place the Wuuthrad on the statue, activate the statue - you'll get the Wuuthrad, which was previously a temporary acquisition, back for good. The Rueful Axe is described as an axe powerful enough to have a lot of fun with, and that makes sense - it has a base damage stat of 22 and deals out stamina damage as well.

It can also be upgraded. Once you're level 10 or higher, you'll want to find Lod near Falkreath's entrance. When given the cahcne, kill Barbas with the axe. You must use the axe to slay him. You get to keep it as a reward. Originally added in the Dragonborn DLC, tis hefty greatsword releases an energy blast whenever you do a powered up attack.

Even the energy blast deals out a nasty 30 damage. You'll want to start the main Dragonborn quest and then eventually head to Raven Rock Mine for this sidequest.

Chat to Crescius in the entrance to the mine and the quest The Final Descent begins. This is certainly an incredibly useful feature in a fight, especially against a stronger foe or against a group of enemies. Unfortunately, Windshear is very well hidden, and it could take people quite a while to acquire. In order to retrieve this weapon, you need to start one of the final Dark Brotherhood quests, "Hail Sithis.

If you chose to get rid of the Dark Brotherhood rather than join them, you unfortunately will never be able to acquire this weapon. Upon starting the "Hail Sithis" quest, the Emperor's ship The Karliah will become an accessible location. Windshear is actually stuck in the front of this ship. To reach it, you need to make your way to the main deck of The Karliah , and then walk across the beam at the very front until you can reach Windshear.

Most people who completed the Companions quest line are familiar with Wuuthrad, the legendary battleaxe of Ysgramor. This weapon is repaired during the Companions quest line, before it is ultimately put on a statue in order to open Ysgramor's tomb. What many people do not know about this weapon, however, is that you can still access the weapon after the quest in order to add it to your personal collection.

After you put Wuuthrad on the statue of Ysgramor to open his tomb, you can easily just take the weapon back. Though this does feel a bit disrespectful, given the narrative of the Companions quest line, it's a cool weapon in a video game, so who cares? For whatever reason, Wuuthrad is particularly useful against Elves, so it's not too bad of a weapon to have if you're taking on the Aldmeri Dominion. This particular sword does some serious stamina damages to enemies, in addition to causing enemies up to level 12 to flee.

According to the game's history, this sword belonged to the Blade Acilius Bolar, who was one of the few surviving Blades after Cloud Ruler Temple was attacked by the Thalmor. Bolar soon escaped to Skyrim, where he lived out the rest of his life. This cool weapon can be discovered in Bloated Man's Grotto near Falkreath, in front of a statue of Talos, along with a few other items previously owned by Acilius Bolar.

Unfortunately, if you have started or completed the side quest "Ill Met by Moonlight," Talos's shrine and Bolar's Oathblade will no longer be in the game, making this weapon non-acquirable. Bloodthorn is a unique dagger found at the Hag's End. It has a unique enchantment that cannot be learned at arcane enchanters, allowing the user to collect their enemy's soul in a soul gem if they are defeated within three seconds, in addition to absorbing their health. If you're a player who likes to fill soul gems, this weapon can be incredibly useful.

This dagger can be found by reaching the highest balcony of Hag's End, west of Dragon's Bridge. The weapon is sitting on an altar, guarded by a rather powerful hagraven. Unfortunately, if you try to retrieve Bloodthorn at a higher level, the hagraven protecting the altar will shoot fireballs and ice storms at the Dragonborn, which have the potential to blast the dagger off of the altar, making it rather difficult to find.

This unique bow has the potential to absorb 25 points of stamina, magicka or health from your enemy with each hit, which is honestly a pretty cool perk. Even if the enchantment doesn't work for a hit, it's still a powerful bow, having about the same base damage as an Elven bow. It's also rather unique looking, with certain markings on the bow glowing a faint orange at times. Unfortunately, in order to get into the ruins, you will need to acquire Kagrumez Resonance Gems through the side quest The Kagrumez Gauntlet.

Once inside, this powerful foe can be found on a rack in the southeast room. The Drainblood Battleaxe, the Drainspell Bow, the Drainheart Sword, and the Ghostblade are four unique spectral weapons, or ghost weapons, that can be found being wielded by spectral draugrs in Labyrinthian and Ansilvund. Unlike most weapons wielded by the undead throughout Skyrim, these four ghost weapons keep their translucent, ghostly appearance when being wielded by the Dragonborn, and each has their own specific power that ties in with their titles.

The Drainblood Battleaxe absorbs the enemy's health, the Drainspell Bow absorbs the enemy's magicka, the Drainheart Sword absorbs the enemy's stamina, and the Ghostblade ignores the enemy's armor, while also adding three extra points of damage.

The first three ghost weapons can be found with random enemies in Labyrinthian, east of Morthal, while the Ghostblade can only be found in Ansilvund, southeast of Windhelm.

On a fun side note, the Ghostblade is the only weapon in the game that can be improved using Ectoplasm.
