Little bastard where is it

A Ford station wagon followed, driven by his stuntman friend Bill Hickman and a photographer who was going to shoot Dean that weekend. After a quick coffee and donuts across the road from Competition Motors, they set off for Salinas, just over miles north. Just over two hours later, on Highway now state route 46 near Cholame, a Ford Tudor sedan turned across the road in front of Dean. Its driver, Donald Turnupspeed yes, that was his real name!

Dean, 24, died almost instantly from a broken neck and massive internal injuries. The little lightweight Porsche was a twisted wreck. Turnupspeed, a year old navy veteran and student, suffered only minor injuries. He is still the only actor to receive two Academy Award nominations posthumously, in for best leading actor in East of Eden and in for best leading actor in Giant.

The fell off of two more transport trucks while travelling on the freeway fortunately not injuring anyone. In Obviously sick of the Porsche by now ; the California Highway Patrol sent it back to Barris; however, it mysteriously vanished en route and has thankfully not been seen since, But….

A tragic story indeed. I always thought the car had been lost but looks like it's still hiding somewhere! Thanks for the info, Dave! Thanks for the feedback Matthew. Haw about a trip to the States to find it? The car apparently fell apart when it was showca. Yes, many cars have a sinister soul! Tim Rodie. Ben Welham. Joe Boater. Sadly, as Guinness said, Dean died in it a week later. The intent was to put a car on a trailer and drive it there, but Dean suggested to drive the car so that they can break in the engine and that he can familiarize with the car.

Two hours after they departed around pm , Dean got a speeding ticket for driving 65 mph in a 55 mph zone. But that didn't worry him because Half an hour later, a black and white Ford Tudor Coupe, driven by Donald Turnupspeed yes, that was his real name was going in an opposite direction to Dean. As Turnupspeed made a left turn on Route 41, he crosses the center line and was heading directly into Porsche. Dean, estimated to be going at 85 mph, tried to evade the impact, but it was in vain.

The two cars crashed head-on. Credit: History Goes Bump blog. Dean passed away in hospital 30 minutes after the crash, while Turnupspeed walked away with a minor scratch on his nose.

Ford Tudor Coupe that crashed into "Little Bastard". The Ford Tudor received a lot of damage on the front left side, while the Porsche was unrecognizable. Due to the force of the impact, the spun out and hit into a tree. But that wasn't the end of this German sports car. As Guinness said, the car had a sinister aura surrounding it. There was something about it that couldn't be labeled as "coincidental". Something out of this world.

Something creepy. Something that put a curse on everyone who came close to it. While unloading it, the car slid off the trailer and broke a mechanic's leg. Guinness told dean: "If you get in that car, you will be found dead in it by this time next week. They used these parts to make cars of their own, and were racing against each other in the cars with these Spyder parts. After few laps, McHenry lost control of his car and crashed into a tree; the impact killed him instantly.

Eschrid was driving the car on a track, when the wheels locked up for no reason causing him to roll over few times. He didn't die, but he was seriously injured. The remaining parts of the car, which was basically four wheels, a mangled body, and a twisted frame were sold to George Barris who sold two tires from the car and loaned the body to the Los Angeles chapter of the National Safety Council as a traveling display.

The tires that Barris sold reportedly blew at the same time causing yet another accident and the body fell from its display on multiple occasions. One time injuring a bystander and the other killing George Barkus, a truck driver hired to transport the car to a road-safety expo. While in storage, the car caught on fire for an unknown reason and in , while being transported from Miami to Los Angeles the car mysteriously disappeared, never to be seen again.

Is this story proof of a cursed car or is it simply all a series of horrible coincidences? The world may never know for sure, so you will just have to make up your own mind.
