What is the difference between sierra and sandpiper

Your best bet, if able to, is to go to a large RV show, look at the various models, ask the questions, and see what your price range will get you, new. Then, you might consider shopping around for used units that meet your criteria. I think what you are looking at is the higher end models of 5th wheels for living in during construction. I assume it does get clod to freezing where you live, and you need a model that will get you through that.

Otherwise, you better have a propane truck parked next to the unit to stay warm. Hope this will give you some insight. My view is that the OP's 5th wheel will be sitting in one spot for the whole time they own it. It won't be put through the same rigors as if it were used during a camping season or worse yet as a traveling full timer would.

The slides will be fully extended the whole time. It should be hooked up to water, elec and sewer also. So things like propane, batteries etc won't be an issue. Only things that would be of concern are the interior features, like the cabinets, lighting, bathroom, facilities, etc. As long as the R-values are adequate heating and cooling should be fine.

I see the only issue being resale value. Montana's the 1 seller in it's class. That means it's well known and may have more appeal. You may also like:. BB code is On. Smilies are On. While there are plenty of similarities between the two brands, there are also some distinctions. Sierra debate. Forest River, is the manufacturer of both Sandpiper and Sierra.

They are different branches of the same brand. Most of the time these will be similar for the two brands. Some of the differences will be interior colors, exterior graphics, furniture, and window treatments. These are oftentimes different. Things like:. Only a few small traits are different. Being built in the same factory in Goshen, Indiana you can assume that the process is quite similar for both Sandpiper and Sierra RVs.

The walls are built using this method. They take a piece of interior board, a sheet of Styrofoam insulation, a sheet of plywood, then a sheet of fiberglass. These are pressed together with aluminum studs, and this creates a very strong wall. This method is lightweight, and revolutionary when it comes to building RV walls. There are a few reasons for this. Sandpiper has been around longer than Sierra, and as a rule, most towns will only allow one Sandpiper or Sierra dealer.

If Forest River is producing two different brands then that allows another dealership filled with Forest River products allowed in the same town.

It keeps the factories operating smoothly, and it keeps the salesman honest. There are a lot of good questions that you should ask the salesman when you go to purchase an RV. While there are some honest dealers out there, some will try and rip you off if they can. They should offer fair and reasonably priced services. You should also do some of your own research on different dealerships in your area. Check out www.

This site guarantees that the reviews are real because users have to make their own account before posting any reviews. These are both great ways to check the legitimacy of the dealership. There are some major benefits as a dealer who sells one of these two major brands of RVs. With all of their similarities, you can use the other brand to help sell the one that you have in stock.
