Snoop Dogg, aka DJ Snoopadelic, was fashionably 20 minutes late to the party and predictably high as a kite, but KROQ personality Beer Mug kept the crowd entertained while sporting his coconut bra and grass hula skirt before bringing back out DJ Jeremiah Red to help stall.

The mere presence of Snoop Dogg made the audience go crazy as he spun records by everyone from Ludacris to Queen and incorporated a few of his own hits into he mix. In an ideal world, The Lumineers would have gone on earlier in the day. After Limp Bizkit got the blood pumping again and security was finally able to safely extract guitarist Wes Borland, who spent the later part of the set actually out in the crowd, which moshed around him, took the stage.

Back in the artist compound, vocalist-guitarist Nick Hexum said that the band, which celebrates its 29th anniversary on June 10, had easily played over a dozen KROQ events, but this was the first time it has headlined. You get so much out of just one day. The couple hasn't been to that many shows, but shared a mutual love for Red Hot Chili Peppers which is why they splurged on tickets that they ended up having to purchase off of StubHub. The pair took to Craigslist and actually found a person selling a pair Weenie Roast tickets that was willing to make the swap to see Queen Bey. It wouldn't be a rock show without a little mayhem and mischief. A horde of naughty fans ran down the hill from behind Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre, managed to avoid security and hopped the fence to get inside and enjoy the final Weenie Roast at the iconic outdoor venue.

The siblings agreed that the atmosphere and meeting other fans was a festival highlight, but they also enjoyed discovering new music. I do feel badly though, that we discovered this festival so late. Hopefully they'll keep it going somewhere in Orange County.
